Innovation in Action: How WAC Group Is Equipping Integrators for the Future

At CEDIA 2026, WAC Group delivered more than a showcase of new products. The company unveiled a broader vision centered on innovation, business growth, and empowering integrators with intelligent tools designed to simplify design, sales, and specification workflows. The focus extends beyond lighting fixtures to encompass entire ecosystems of products, technologies, and digital resources that help integrators work smarter, grow more profitably and deliver elevated experiences for their clients.

“There’s never been a better time to look for opportunities, whether it’s retrofits, new construction, landscape lighting, VENTRIX systems or beyond. It all counts,” says Patrick Laidlaw, WAC Group Director of Business Development-Integration.

To further support custom integrator professionals, at the CEDIA show WAC introduced one of its most aggressive dealer incentives to date. Through the Double Dollars program, all qualifying purchases made between September 1 and December 31, 2026, count at twice their value toward dealer profitability tiers for 2027. Here are the highlights and takeaways from the show.

X-Track: Expanding the Possibilities of Outdoor Lighting

One of the standout products at the show was X-Track, an award-winning outdoor track lighting system designed specifically for wet-location applications. Unlike traditional track systems that rely on exposed conductors, X-Track uses weather-resistant technology, enabling installation in outdoor environments where track lighting was previously impractical.

“It’s not just the aesthetic of landscape lighting. It’s truly functional lighting for outdoor living spaces,” commented Greg Barrett, WAC Group Director of Lighting Systems.

The applications are extensive. Integrators can now provide flexible, adjustable lighting for pergolas, outdoor kitchens, covered seating areas, and hospitality spaces. The system’s field-cuttable design and adjustable beam technology allow lighting to be precisely aimed where it’s needed most for illumination and ambiance. WAC also plans to integrate its Colorscaping technology with X-Track, opening the door for dynamic scenes and tunable outdoor experiences.

Smart Fans Become Part of the Integrated Home

Today’s smart home extends beyond lighting and entertainment, and Modern Forms Smart Fans are designed to play a central role. Compatible with leading automation platforms, these fans help regulate airflow while new models featuring tunable white uplighting and downlighting add a new layer of customizable illumination. With independent lighting controls and year-round comfort benefits, they blend lighting, wellness, and climate control into a single solution.

Enhancing Everyday Projects with Astro Basics

Not every innovation requires a complete redesign. WAC highlighted Astro Basics as an opportunity for integrators to easily elevate existing homes through lighting upgrades. This retrofit solution transforms standard recessed cans into warm-dimming, adjustable fixtures that dramatically improve the quality of light within a space.

The value extends beyond aesthetics. Because the fixture can be installed quickly into existing recessed housings, it provides integrators with a simple revenue opportunity while delivering a noticeable improvement in comfort, mood, and visual appeal for homeowners. As residential remodeling activity continues to rise, products like Astro Basics offer a practical way to introduce professional lighting design into existing homes.

Specialty Lighting for Emerging Lifestyle Trends

WAC Group also introduced a dedicated sauna and spa lighting collection designed to withstand high temperatures and moisture-rich environments. Available in multiple sizes and finishes, the new fixtures address a growing demand for wellness-focused residential spaces.

With homeowners increasingly investing in spa-like retreats and wellness amenities, these specialized fixtures provide integrators with another avenue to participate in luxury residential projects while meeting stringent environmental requirements.

The Rise of Intelligent Design Tools

Perhaps the most compelling aspect of the CEDIA offerings was WAC Lighting’s growing suite of digital design tools.

“Why do we build tools? Because you asked for them,” said Jeff Durbin, WAC Group Customer Technology Product Manager. “We designed this toolbox to be accessible 24/7 to give you fast, accurate bill of materials and visuals to present to your clients.”

The Colorscaping Configurator allows users to upload photos of a client’s property, place fixtures directly into the image, simulate lighting effects, and generate proposal-ready visualizations. Integrators can create daytime or nighttime renderings, specify color temperatures, adjust beam spreads, and automatically generate bills of materials.

Similarly, the VENTRIX Configurator simplifies the design of WAC’s highly adaptable architectural lighting system. Users can create layouts in 3D, specify fixture types, generate engineering documents, and produce detailed submittals in a fraction of the time previously required.

Available 24/7 through WAC Lighting’s online resource center, these tools represent a broader commitment to helping dealers accelerate project workflows while improving customer presentations and design accuracy.

Looking Ahead

From outdoor lighting and tunable solutions to digital configurators and decorative collections, WAC Group’s CEDIA 2026 showcase demonstrated a clear strategy focused on innovation, efficiency, and dealer success. The company’s continued investment in both technology and partner enablement reflects the evolving needs of today’s integration community.

As smart homes become more sophisticated and clients demand increasingly personalized experiences, tools that simplify specification, visualization, and control will become just as important as the products themselves. WAC Group’s latest initiatives suggest the company is prepared to lead on both fronts.
